I have a terrible habit of starting a project, getting all jazzed about it, and then trailing off and not following through.
That said, here’s my latest project! These are the first two of a series of ‘animal saint’ woodcuts I’m working on. Eventually I’ll turn them all into a book of some sort.
The owl is fully carved, the bear has just been transferred onto the woodblock for me to carve out tomorrow. I wish I’d known about acetone transfers years ago.
Check out those little lines! These blocks are only 6″ x 8″, so my new fine point tools are coming in pretty handy. I feel like this is the first time in a while that I’ve been able to get the detail that I want out of the block.
Tomorrow is my studio day, so expect to see some finished prints soon!
