Today I made a little book to practice my sewing–which as you can see still needs some work. Keeping a coptic binding at an even tension throughout is a tricky deal.
I used a deck of playing cards for the signatures. There are so many pages that the whole thing sort of fans open. And it must have been a pinocle deck or something, because I swear, almost half of these cards are a two of spades.Final step: pressing it flat. I could go out to the studio to use the nipping press, but it’s late and I have a stack of textbooks that’ll do the job.
